We
offer gas & propane furnaces with 80, 90 & 95% efficiencies. We
have single, two-stage, and variable speed furnaces for your
comfort. Oil furnaces are also available.
One
of the first things to consider when purchasing a
furnace is its efficiency.
If
your present furnace is 10 years old or more, it may be in the 60 to 70%
efficiency
range. That means you're wasting 30 to 40 cents out of every dollar you
spend for heat. Older furnaces only deliver air at one speed, so the system is
either off or on at full speed.
What is a Two-stage furnace?
During those transitional seasons that need just
a little heat, you will notice the difference with a two-stage furnace. A
two-stage furnace has a preheat stage, warming the heat exchangers before
circulating air throughout your home. Then the furnace runs in first stage
(65% of full capacity), the furnace runs longer but at an energy-saving level. The blower starts at low speed,
gently warming your home without frequent starts and stops. When it is colder
outside, a two-stage furnace switches to high stage heat for maximum comfort.
Then what is a Variable Speed
furnace?
A variable speed
furnace has a two-stage heating system, but it actually has a variable speed
blower for even more comfort. The variable speed motor operates at a
slower, more efficient speed the majority of the time, is quiet and gives a
gentle, warm flow of air consistently and comfortably. The variable
speed motor ramps up slowly, keeping sound at a minimum and indoor air quality
is improved because more unwanted particles cling to the filter,
so cleaner air
flows into your home.
